PSIP Protocol Concrete Side

CERTIFY YOUR
CONCRETE.
OWN YOUR MARKET.

PSIP Flatwork is the documented concrete certification standard for driveways, patios, and slabs. You stop competing on price and start selling proof. When a homeowner asks how they know their concrete will not fail, you hand them the certificate.

Why a standard exists

MOST CONCRETE IS POURED ON HABIT, NOT A RECORD.

When concrete fails, the homeowner has no record of what was done, and the contractor has no defensible proof of what was poured. Cracking, spalling, and ASR all trace back to the same gap: no documentation and no accountability. PSIP does not change the chemistry of concrete. It changes the accountability around every pour, so every pour carries a complete, signed record.

The accountability gap
No record means a dispute becomes a credibility contest. The homeowner usually loses it, and so does the honest contractor who kept no proof.
The code gap
Code sets the minimum to pass inspection, not durability. Passing inspection is not the same as built to last. PSIP is a documented performance standard above code.
The market shift
Luxury builders already buy on documentation. A signed closeout packet speaks the language they use with every other trade. Concrete has been the exception. PSIP makes it the rule.
The protocol

SIX PILLARS. EVERY POUR. NO EXCEPTIONS.

The documented framework that turns published ACI and ASTM standards into a field-executed record on every certified pour.

01
Mix Design
ACI 301-20 · ACI 318 · ACI 332
Performance specified to the documented exposure class. Strength, water-cement ratio, air content, and SCM strategy follow from the class. PSI is an output, never the input. No job site water.
02
Reinforcement
ACI 302.1R · ACI 318
Rebar grid chaired and tied to hold proper cover, fiber mesh for plastic shrinkage control, cover verified with photo documentation before placement begins.
03
Base Protection
ACI 301-20
The compacted base is protected. Where access allows, concrete is pumped so mixer trucks never drive on the prepared base. A compromised base no quality of concrete can fix.
04
Base Pre-Hydration
ACI 302.1R
The base is pre-wetted to a saturated surface dry condition before placement, documented with a GPS-timestamped photo, so dry subgrade does not pull water from the slab below.
05
Finish Craftsmanship and Curing
ACI 302.1R · ACI 308R
Finishing timed to the bleed water cycle, not the clock. Joints cut in the correct window. Curing applied immediately and documented across the strength gain window. Over-finishing is how surfaces scale and fail.
06
Signed Closeout Packet
Best Practice QA
The permanent record: exposure class spec, SCM verification, pre-pour checklist, verified batch tickets, curing record, and the Signed PSIP Workmanship Certificate, delivered to the homeowner and retained by the contractor.
The contractor experience

FROM ENROLLMENT TO CERTIFIED, START TO FINISH.

One clear path. You take the exam free, you only pay when you pass, and your certification unlocks the field tools that document every pour.

01
Reserve Your Charter Seat
Claim one of the first 25 Concrete Side seats. Your $197 locks the Charter rate permanently and opens your preparation window.
02
Study the Free Guide
Download the free PSIP training guide. The exam is built directly on it, so you train on exactly what you are tested on.
03
Take the Exam Free
Sit the certification exam at no cost. Three attempts to pass at 80 percent, with a cooldown between cycles. Train first.
04
Pass, Then Activate
When you pass, you complete payment and receive your activation code. The code unlocks your app account and your directory listing.
05
Document Every Pour
The field app captures the pour record, GPS-timestamped photos, batch ticket, and curing log, in a guided, stage-locked flow.
06
Deliver the Certificate
Hand the homeowner a Signed PSIP Workmanship Certificate and closeout packet. Proof that transfers with the property at resale.
07
Win on Proof
Walk a builder through the six pillars and the closeout packet in a bid meeting and win work you would lose on price alone.
08
Own Your Region
Certify before your competitors understand what changed, and hold the documented standard buyers will ask for next.

The certification lives on the website. The app is the field tool for contractors who are already certified. Your activation code is the single bridge between the two.
