Why a standard exists

MOST CONCRETE IS POURED ON HABIT, NOT A RECORD.

When concrete fails, the homeowner has no record of what was done, and the contractor has no defensible proof of what was poured. Whether it shows up as cracking, spalling or ASR, the question after is the same: what was done, and nobody has it on record. PSIP does not change the chemistry of concrete. It changes the accountability around every pour, so every pour carries a complete, signed record.

The accountability gap
No record means a dispute becomes a credibility contest. Neither side can show what was done.
The code gap
Code sets the minimum to pass inspection. Passing inspection and having a record of it are not the same thing. PSIP is a documentation layer above code.
The closeout packet
A signed closeout packet gives a builder the same kind of paper he gets from the other trades on the job.

How the concrete reached the forms, recorded, by pump or by direct pour. Where a direct pour was used, any exclusion zones are recorded as they were set at delivery.

The base and subgrade condition immediately before concrete placement, recorded in a dated photograph, damp or standing water or dry. PSIP never said what it had to be.

Signed Closeout Packet
Closeout Record
The close out: the photographs from every stage, the batch tickets as photographed, the contractor's own notes, and the signed PSIP Flatwork Certificate once it issues, delivered to the property owner.

These six are the minimum a PSIP record holds. A contractor can record more, and the record shows everything he recorded.

Know the Charter Terms
The first 25 Concrete Side contractors to pay after passing claim Charter seats and the Charter rate. Passing alone does not claim a seat.

Study the Free Guide
Download the free PSIP training guide. The exam is built directly on it, so you train on exactly what you are tested on.

Take the Exam Free
Sit the certification exam at no cost. Three attempts to pass at 76 percent, 38 of 50, with a cooldown between cycles. Train first.

Pass, Then Pay
When you pass, you pay the annual certification fee. Your first certification year starts the day PSIP sends you a working app login. Your directory listing goes up when the directory opens.

Document Every Pour
The PSIP app, coming in App Version 1, captures each stage live, with the coordinate, the timestamp and the pour day conditions written in at capture, and a photo of every batch ticket.

Deliver the Certificate
Hand the homeowner a Signed PSIP Flatwork Certificate and closeout packet. A record the homeowner keeps.

Show the Record
Walk a builder through the six pillars and the closeout packet. It shows what was done, stage by stage.

The certification lives on the website. The app is the field tool for contractors who are already certified. Your app login, sent by PSIP, is the bridge between the two.

Concrete Side certification

LOCK YOUR CHARTER RATE.

Certification opens in November. When it opens, the first 25 Concrete Side contractors to pay after passing lock $197 per year. Charter Class pricing stays with your account as long as each renewal clears within 30 days of your anniversary. If a renewal is still unpaid after those 30 days, you keep your Charter certificate number but the Charter rate ends for good. A refund ends the seat and the Charter rate for good.
