What a PSIP record tells you

It shows what was recorded on your job, and when and where it was recorded. It does not tell you the work meets code, and it is not an inspection. Your contractor is responsible for building to local code and pulling the permits your project needs. Your local building department can tell you which permits and inspections apply to your project.

When certification opens, a PSIP-certified contractor photographs each stage of the job, the batch ticket included, with the date and place of each capture. A record of what was done, made at the time. The PSIP app that captures it is coming in App Version 1.

THE ASR DECISION

THE ASR QUESTION, ANSWERED IN WRITING.

Alkali-silica reactivity, commonly called concrete cancer, causes widespread structural failure in driveways, patios, pool shells, and flatwork. When certification opens, a PSIP-certified contractor records the materials that went in and the ASR decision that was made, before the first pour, in a record you keep.

THE STANDARD

WE DOCUMENT THE POUR. EVERY OTHER CREDENTIAL CERTIFIES THE PERSON.

ACI and ICRI credentials document that a person knows a procedure. They do not document the work that person did on your pour. PSIP is built on published ACI documents and documents the pour itself. Not a contractor's word. A record made pour by pour.

YOUR PROJECT GETS DOCUMENTED

Your contractor records the work stage by stage in the PSIP record, with every batch ticket photographed on the day. The record and the certificate come to you at closeout.
